Day One of exercising self control with Titus went good. I got impatient a couple times, but was able to breathe. Neither of these times had to do with potty training.
CROSS (Strong's Concordance)
Luke 9:23
"Then He said to them all, 'If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.'"
Luke 14:27
"And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple."
Luke 23:26
"Now as they led Him away, they laid hold of a certain man, Simon a Cyrenian, who was coming from the country, and on him they laid the cross that he might bear it after Jesus."
John 19:17, 19, 25, 31
"And He, bearing His cross, went out to a place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha,"
"Now Pilate wrote a title and put it on the cross. And the writing was: JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS."
"Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His mother, and His mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene."
"Therefore, because it was the Preparation Day, that the bodies should not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away."
Personal Notes
- In the midst of His suffering, Jesus' loved ones could do nothing to save him. He alone had to carry that cross.
- When the Jews went to break Jesus' legs, He was already dead. They pierced his side and took him with the others and had him put in a tomb. I don't know for sure, but had Jesus been alive there may have been doubt as to if He had really died. God had purpose in making sure there were witnesses as to His really being dead.
- Just as Christ died on His cross. We must also die, so that we may live in Him.
- We must die DAILY!
