Journal Entry:
My heart is heavy right now regarding my father. We are at odds and my patience is being tested. My flesh tells me one thing and the Holy Spirit tells me another. All of my flesh wants nothing to do with him, but the Holy Spirit prompts me to continue loving him unconditionally. At this point I am waiting for a letter from him. He thinks it will make me not want to come visit him at Thanksgiving. Regardless of what the letter entails, my plans remain the same. There are more details then that, that I will not go into. However, it is regarding his relationship with God. It gets harder and harder to put all my feelings aside and continue reaching out to him. Anyway, pray for us and our relationship in this also.
Lord, I just pray for my relationship with my father. I pray that he would sincerely come to know You as his Heavenly Father. Lord, may the Truth shine forth as he reads Your Word and may the Holy Spirit direct his path. Lord, speak to my heart also in how to respond to him. I have been hurt and wounded by him as a father, but You are my Heavenly Father and are perfect in all Your ways. All things work out for good to those who love You. Amen.
